I've had some beautiful cardstock on the shelf for years (and years... and years...), so I'm trying to get some use out of it. Have you ever purchased cardstock that's "too pretty to cut?" The background for this card is one of those "too pretty to cut" papers:
When I saw the Chibi Fawn 1 digital stamp (Stampers Delights), I thought he would look magically zen with this paper. I printed him on Copic XPress-It cardstock, colored him with Copics, and fussy cut him with scissors.
I cut the paper from the Make Believe Paper Pack (Tattered Lace) to 5.75" x 5.75" (with a 6" x 6" black mat). I stamped a sentiment from the Rosie Fairy stamp set (Kraftin' Kimmie) on white cardstock, then mounted both the fawn and the sentiment on foam dots. That gorgeous background paper made this a super easy card to make!
